Banana Smoothie

My daughter loves anything banana flavored so it only makes sense that her favorite smoothie would be chalked full of banana flavor.  Plus it's so easy to make, she can throw it together herself.

Banana Smoothie

Yield: 16 oz. serving
1 Large Ripe Banana (or 2 small bananas)
1 Cup Crushed Ice
8 oz. Silk Original Almond Milk

Instructions:
1. In a blender, combine banana, ice and almond milk until smooth.
2. Pour into a glass, sip and enjoy!

Sometimes it's so frosty & chilly, fuzzy earmuffs are necessary.

Green Treat Smoothie

This is my favorite smoothie right now...it's packed with a little bit of everything for my body.  Grab your juicer and get to juicing!  If you don't have a juicer, your blender will work just fine. (it comes into play after making the juice anyway)

Green Treat Smoothie
Yields: 2 (16-18oz.) Glasses Blended or 1 (8-10oz.) Glass Juiced

Ingredients
1 cup Baby Spinach, or a handful
2 small stems Kale, or 1 large stem
1 Bartlet Pear
1 Gala Apple (increase to 3 apples if not adding organic juice below)
1 large Carrot, or 1/2 cup Baby Carrots
1/2 cup Pineapple, or 1" thick ring
5 medium Strawberries
1 Peach
1/2 Baby Cucumber, or 1/4 regular cucumber (cucumber is strong when juiced/blended)
6 oz. Organic Apple Juice no sugar added (optional)
A palm full of Parsley leaves (optional)
1 scoop Wheat Grass Powder (optional)

Instructions
Wash all vegetables & fruit to remove any pesticides.

Core apple(s), pear and peach. Remove leaves of strawberries. Core and remove the rind of pineapple.

Suggestion: If blending for a smoothie and not just juice, freeze pineapple, peaches & strawberries. Do not juice them, combine with juice and blend until reaching desired consistency.

Juice ingredients together.  Leafy ingredients need to be juiced at the same time with apples, cucumber, peach, pineapple or carrots.

After juicing, combine the juice and some of the pulp from the juicer's catch bin in a blender until reaching desired consistency.

Peachberry Smoothie

My girls love smoothies...and my little Rose has an infatuation with strawberries. So I came up with this simple breakfast concoction for her. There isn't a smoothie that she's met that she hasn't loved.

Smoothies need to be nice and frosty, so I start with some vanilla frozen yogurt. I really like Blue Bunny's vanilla...or Dryer's Vanilla Yogurt Blend.

Sunrise Smoothie

I'm not much of morning person, so anything that can help brighten my day is always welcomed. This is a very simple recipe for a quick jumpstart to a healthy day...packed with vitamin C & potassium too! PLUS, it's a great gluten-free option. Added Bonus: The Kiddles Love It!

So I start with crushed ice...2-3 cups depending on how thick I want my smoothie. (and if I'm using fresh fruit, I always make it 3 cups of ice) Pour in one cup of vanilla flavored Almond Milk. You could also use vanilla flavored Soy Milk, but I personally prefer the Almond Milk for this smoothie.
