My Favorite Shopping App ~ Shopkick

I love to window shop...and dream shop...and regular shop.  And I really love finding deals!  Lately I have been absolutely addicted to finding deals and consuming gift cards.

I found an app that lets me do BOTH!  It's that little symbol right above here that is now my favorite...and it's called SHOPKICK...and it's quite frankly awesome. If you have an  iPhone or Android then this app's for you!

If you don't SHOPKICK you should.  This app delivers a bit of fun while bringing you special deals at some of your favorite retailers. You can collect "kicks" a few different ways.

1. By FLIPPING through each store's "look book" (pictured items and savings deals/coupons

2. By SCANNING featured items at participating stores. My husband & I love this...it's like a scavenger hunt.

3. By simply WALKING INTO a store! Even if I'm window shopping I get kicks!

4. If you choose, even by REGISTERING your cards and receiving kicks for shopping!

And the rewards aren't bad either!  Instant gift cards, or emailed gift cards, emailed certificates or credits for the store in SHOPKICK's "My Stuff" folder.

"Which stores can I get rewards for?"

Great question!

How about:
Target, Starbucks, Nike, Old Navy, iTunes, CVS, Movie Tickets, COACH, Tiffany & Co., Macy's, Best Buy, American Eagle Outfitters, Gas Cards...and more!

OR you could donate your kicks to a special cause. How nice of you!

There are also promotions for inviting your friends to join...so spread the SHOPKICK love!

***UPDATE***

To date I have claimed $20 in Starbucks e-Certificates and a $25 Restaurant.com e-Certificate...and have kicks ready to be redeemed for another $25 reward of my choosing!

The NUBY Super Spout Easy Gripper Sippy Cup

You would think that at about the age of 3 the sippy cup would become a thing of the past.

Not in my house! Now, don't think that I'm crazy...I just look at it this way:

The middle of the night is when I prefer to be asleep.
And I think that I have found the perfect solution to the nightly call for some water to drink. (which typically happens between 2-3AM)

My girls really don't use it during the day...unless I'm petrified that whatever it is that they are wanting to drink is going to destroy my beloved couch. So it's rare now...really it is.

BUT at night they know that Momma goes and fills the Nuby Super Spout Easy Gripper Sippy Cup to what I imagine is 1/3 of the sippy cup's capacity.

It then gets placed in the center of a kid's neck pillow...you know, the kind that us adults use on airplanes or on long car trips.

Immersion Blender = Genius

I can't even begin to tell you how many times I use this immersion blender. It is definitely one of my "Must Have" items in the kitchen. And I haven't even used the whisk attachment yet. (it's been 4 years since I bought it) Someday I will put that whisk to use...some day.

In the meantime, I definately must say that for soups, guacamole, shakes, smoothies, adding fruit to frozen yogurt...this tool is my absolute treasure. There is are many ways that I've used this.

Favorite Traveling Potty

You're on the road, in the middle of nowhere, and *DUM-DUM DUM-DUM* there is the dreaded cry from the back seat, "Mommy, I need to go pee-pee!" For anyone who has to take a road trip with a little one either being potty trained or just under the age of 6, this is a must have in the car. It's like a glowing beacon of "I Can Save Your Interior".

We regularly take 9-10 hour trips back to Southern California and I can not even begin to tell you just how valuable this little Potette Plus portable potty seat has been for us. It has litteraly saved our Sorento from a bad dowsing of ___...well, you fill in the blank. And the nice thing is that not only is it a portable seat for the car, it also is a portable potty seat for public toilets! That with a little spray can of Lysol and we're in the clear for the public potty scene. Wooohoo!

Let me just say, I know that the background is really dark...but assembling a potty on a kitchen counter or table just didn't seem right to me...so our bedspread became a logical choice.

Super simple to use...you unfold the seat "legs" and with a little push lock them into position.

The initial package comes with a few of these baggies that have an absorbant liner at the bottom. It's basically a plastic shopping bag that is just a little smaller with a small diaper in the middle.

You lay one of the baggies with the absorbant bottom in the middle,

Gently pull the sides of the baggie over the edges of the seat

And loop the handles through the slotted area of the legs on each side.

Voila! That was easy. One potty seat ready for action!

And when the kiddle is done doing their business, just undo the bag handles from the legs of the seat, bring them up and tie off the bag. (I carry an extra plastic bag from Target (or any thick shopping bag) to put any potty seat baggies in...just to be sure that there isn't any spillage) Then toss the rubbish away in the next available trash receptacle.

Then what I like to do is get the Potette ready for it's next use...just don't loop the handles of the bag onto the legs of the Potette.

And then store it in it's little drawstring bag. Isn't that nice? They include a carrying bag.

OR if you are in a public restroom, you can simply fold out the legs and lock them into place to become handles for your little kiddle to hold when they are on the potty. (keeping little hands off of the public potty seat)

Seriously, this is the #1 item that I tell anyone who has a little kiddle learning to use the potty, "You have to get this!"

They can easily be found at Babies R Us along with the replacement potty seat baggies. (or you could use a lick plastic shopping bag, but make sure there are no holes, and place a small diaper in the bottom...that works too)
