FREE Meals For Veterans This Veterans Day

To our men & women who have served our country, let me say "THANK YOU!"  I am honored to be married to a man who is 3rd generation Navy; three of my cousins have served in the National Guard; one cousin & her husband in the Army...we are a family rich in American Pride.

On Veterans Day there are a number of establishments that are proud to honor America's Veterans.  Below is a list of companies and their offerings.

Two things to keep in mind before heading out to redeem your FREE Veterans Day offerings:
  • Proof of Military Service - Most establishments require some form of military ID. Some companies go by the honor system, but be prepared to show one of the following: 
    • Military ID Card (active/reserve/retired)
    • Current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES)
    • Drivers License with Veterans Designation
    • Photograph in uniform
    • Be wearing a uniform (if your service permits)
    • Veterans Organization Card (e.g., American Legion and VFW)
    • DD214 papers
    • Discharge Paperwork
  • Participation - Always call ahead to verify locations, times and participation.
    • Many companies listed are franchises and may have different policies.

Applebee's - Free meal, Sunday, November 11, 2012:  Offering a free meal to military veterans and active-duty service members.  There will be 7 entrees to choose from, beverage and gratuity not included.  Military ID or proof of service required.

Bar Louie - Free meal, Sunday, November 11, 2012:  Active Duty Military Members and Veterans can receive a free meal, up to $10 value, and a free non-alcoholic beverage.  Available at all locations, military ID or proof of service is required.

BJ's Restaurant & Brewery - Sunday & Monday, November 11th & 12th, 2012: Veterans and active duty military can choose from any BJ’s Lunch entrée, or get a free individual sized single topping pizza for dinner. Proof of service required. BJ's Facebook Page

California Pizza Kitchen - Sunday and Monday, November 11th & 12th, 2012:  All Veterans and Active Duty Service Members are invited to enjoy any one their pizzas and a non-alcoholic beverage on the house.

Cheeseburger in Paradise, Nov. 12, 2012:  Free meal from select menu with military ID or proof of service. Beverages and gratuity not included. Find a location near you.

Chili's - Free Meal, Sunday, November 11, 2012:  Chili's is offering all Military Veterans past and present their choice of one of 7 meals.  This offer is available from 11am - 5 pm on November 11, 2012 at participating chili's in the U.S. only.  dine-in from limited menu only; beverages and gratuity not included.  Veterans and Active Duty Military simply show proof of military service.

Claim Jumper - Sunday & Monday, November 11th & 12th, 2012:  Offering all active military personnel and Veterans and their family & friends, a 15% discount on food purchases. (Valid up to 4 persons) Claim Jumper Facebook Page

Denny's Veterans Day Appreciation Event, Monday, November 12th, 2012:  Free all you can eat pancakes from 6 am - 2 pm on Monday, November 12th for all Active, Retirees and Veterans with a military ID or proof of military service.  Offer available in every Denny's nationwide.

Famous Dave's - Sunday, November 11, 2012:  Free or discounted meals on Veterans Day.  Offer varies by location, please check the Famous Dave's Veterans Day page or call your local restaurant for more information.

Golden Corral - Monday, November 12, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.:  Golden Corral will be giving out Veterans Day free meals to any person who has ever served in the U.S. military or is on current active duty.  All Golden Corral locations will be participating and no identification is required to get your free meal. Last year, Golden Corral served over 375,000 veterans a Veterans Day free meal!

Hooters - Free Meal, Sunday, November 11, 2012:  Hooters is serving up a free meal to Military Veterans all day on Veterans Day.  Offer good for all Veterans and Active Duty Military Personnel.  Get 10 Free Wings - Boneless or Regular, drink purchase required.  Offer valid at participating Hooters only; open to all Active Duty and Military Veterans with valid military ID or proof of military service.  For more information visit Hooters' Veterans Day page.

Krispy Kreme - Free donut, Sunday, November 11, 2012:  Available only at participating Krispy Kreme stores.  Offer available to all Active Duty, Retirees and Veterans.  Be sure to call ahead to verify your local Krispy Kreme is participating.

Little Caesars® Pizza - Monday, November 12, 2012:  Free Crazy Bread® with proof of military status or proof of service at participating stores nationwide.  Call ahead to verify location participation.

Lone Star Steakhouse, Monday, Nov. 12, 2012:  All veterans and active duty military will receive a FREE entrée from the Stars & Stripes Menu. ID required, please call ahead for verification.

LongHorn Steakhouse, Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012: Complimentary Texas Tonion and non-alcoholic beverage. Offer good for Veterans and active-duty military members. Proof of service required. Visit their site to find a location near you.

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants - Free lunch or dinner, Sunday, November 11, 2012:  McCormick & Schmick's is celebrating their 14th annual Veterans Appreciation Event on Sunday, November 11th.  Veterans will be able to choose a complimentary lunch or dinner entree.  Veterans must provide proof of military service.  Be sure to contact your local McCormick & Schmick's as this is valid at participating restaurants only.  Also, space is limited and reservations are highly recommended.

On The Border - Sunday, November 11, 2012:  "Sizzling Salute To Veterans" promotion.  Mention this special and On The Boarder will donate 15% of your purchase to Carry The Load, a non-profit military organization.  Veterans and Military Service Members with ID who dine at On The Boarder on 11/11/12 will receive a certificate for a free entree (up to $10) valid from 11/12/12 thru 11/30/12.

Outback Steakhouse - Free Bloomin' Onions and Cokes, November 11 & 12, 2012:  Honoring America's Military Veterans by offering Active Duty Military and Veterans a free Bloomin' Onion and a Coca-Cola product November 11th & 12th, Sunday & Monday.  This offer is available to Military Personnel with ID.  Also, In addition, Military Personnel with any of the foregoing forms of identification, will receive 10% OFF their entire guest check (excluding alcohol, applicable taxes and gratuity) November 13 - December 31, 2012.  See information at Outback Steakhouse.

Red Lobster - Sunday, November 11, 2012:  Free appetizer on Veterans Day with Military ID or proof of service.  Veterans may choose from a select list of appetizers.  Find a participating location near you.

Red Robin - Monday, November 12, 2012:  Free Red's Tavern Double and Bottomless Steak Fries for all Red Robin guests with a Military ID, proof of service or are in military uniform and Veterans.

RENO Red Robin on Kietzke Lane - Sunday, November 11, 2012, from 3pm - 10pm. TIPS FOR VETS -  Enjoy a meal and help a Vet and their family.  Place your meal receipt in the box and Red Robin will donate 10% to The American Legion to help Northern Nevada Veterans! 

Red Robin is also partnering with Heinz® to support the "Our Turn To Serve" Campaign for Veterans Day to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.  Red Robin will also donate $10,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project®.  Consumers can participate by scanning a quick response (QR) code on the back of specially marked Heinz® Ketchup bottles. Red Robin guests can also scan the QR code on the fabric banner displayed in the restaurant's lobby. The scanned code leads to a website where consumers can write their own "thank you" message to an active duty or retired military service member.  Consumers also have the option to email a "thank you" to a personal friend or family member who has served in the military by entering an email address. Heinz® will donate $1 to Wounded Warrior Project® for each "thank you" sent and an additional 57 cents for each message shared on Facebook or Twitter through the campaign, up to $250,000

Squeeze In - Free Breakfast or Lunch! Veterans!  Monday, November 12, 2012: Plan on coming down to any of our 4 locations (Tuckee, CA/ Reno & Sparks, NV) on Monday and eat FREE! We appreciate your service and we'd be happy to buy your breakfast or lunch and beverage (up to $15 value)! Just bring an id or some other proof, and we'll hook you up. SUBWAY® - Free six-inch sub, Sunday, November 11, 2012:  Select SUBWAY® Restaurants will offer a FREE six-inch sub or flatbread to Military Veterans on Veterans Day.  This offer is valid only on November 11, 2012 at participating local SUBWAY® restaurants.  Military ID or proof of service is required. Note: SUBWAY Restaurants are franchises. Please call ahead to verify participation and times.

Texas Corral – Free entree.  Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012:  Offer available to all active duty members and veterans with ID. Note: All Texas Corral locations also regularly offer a 50% discount to active duty police officers, firemen and military personnel. Dine-in Only. Locations.

Texas Roadhouse - Free lunch, Monday, November 12, 2012:  Veterans, Active Military Personnel and Military Retirees can choose from a special Veterans Menu consisting of 6 entrees and a choice of beverage. Dine-in only; alcoholic beverages and gratuity not included.  Proof of service is required.

T.G.I. Friday's - Free lunch, Monday, November 12, 2012:  Valid for all US Military Personnel and Veterans.  Must wear uniform (if permitted by your branch of service) or present military ID or other proof of service.  Only valid at participatinglocations for anyone with an old or current military ID.  More details available at TGIFridays.com.

The Olive Garden - Free entree, Sunday, November 11, 2012:  Offer good for Veterans and Active Duty Military Personnel during regular business hours.  Choose from a special menu; all entrees include freshly baked garlic sticks and choice of soup or salad.  Offer good in US and Canada, proof of service is required.

Uno Chicago Grill - Sunday & Monday, November 11th & 12th 2012:  Free individual pizza or entree with the purchase of a pizza or entree of equal or greater value.  Available for all Active Duty and Veterans.  No coupon necessary; proof of service is required.

7-Eleven - Free small Slurpee , Sunday November 11, 2012 from 11am - 7 pm:  Offer good to all current and former military members.  ID or proof of service is required.
